Want to know other ways to go “green”?

Replace copiers or printers with multifunctional machines (MFP) that do it all. One MFP that copies, prints, scans and faxes can use half the energy of all those separate devices.  MFPs help you to:

  • Control everyday paper flow by scanning documents (Read more)

Our multifunctional machines have fast scanning technology that allows you to electronically capture a paper-based document.  Getting your documents where they need to go is simple. Choose up to seven destinations—email, Desktop, FTP, Network Folders, USB, Fax and Internet Fax—sending your document where it needs to go is as easy as pushing a button.  In addition, this document can now be converted to a text document using OCR (optical character recognition).

Using SharpDesk®, you can easily browse, edit, search, compose, process, and forward your electronic documents. Putting a proposal or report together is easy—simply drag and drop your files onto SharpDesk’s Work Area.

Locking down sensitive documents, yet ensuring that pertinent data is available to those who need it is included with SharpDesk®.  An advanced backup system and PIN-access security helps ensure that your files are safe.

  • Capture fax and email communications electronically. (Read more)

A document management system has the ability to capture faxes electronically, eliminating paper and ink, verifying that every page of a fax has been received, and making the content immediately available to everyone who needs it. The electronic fax can easily be forwarded without the need to scan a document first.

Email communications contain valuable information but the information stored in them is generally only available to the specified individual and trapped within that individual’s personal email storage system. Employee turnover, illness, vacations, etc. creates the need to have authorized access to email communications content.

  • Eliminate paper at the source by using online forms. (Read more)

Web-based forms that are available via your company’s secure portal will provide staff with convenience via their desktops at work or home with the most up to date form. Eliminating paper and outdated forms will result in savings and efficiency.

How can I participate at home?

At CBM, we encourage everyone to participate in environmental practices at home as well as in the office. We can reduce waste by following a few simple practices:

1)  Don’t print out unnecessary output. Print 2-sided (duplex) on each sheet of paper. Print 2-up on PowerPoint Presentations.

2)  Set up recycling bins for the paper used.

3)  Reduce energy consumption by powering off office equipment before leaving for home. Enable Sleep/Low Power mode on office equipment.  Turn off lights in rooms not being used.

4)  Recycle paper, cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles.
